Newcastle progressed to the quarter-finals of the League Cup on Wednesday, beating Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford.

The Magpies got the first goal in the 28th minute. Paraguayan Miguel Almirón finalised a quick transition with his left foot after an assist from Valentino Livramento, who produced an excellent display.
Old Trafford saw Newcastle get their second goal in the 36th minute. A well-placed shot from Lewis Hall beat Andre Onana once again.
In the second half, if more was needed, the visitors confirmed their superiority. Joe Willock received the ball from Joelinton and made it 0-3.
Diogo Dalot started, but gave way at half-time to Aaron Wan-Bissaka. Bruno Fernandes, on the other hand, started on the bench in a natural way and replaced Alejandro Garnacho in the 65th minute when the match was decided.
Erik ten Hag is an increasingly criticised man on the red side of Manchester.
