The ‘red devils’ won 2-0 with two goals scored by the two Portuguese members of the team
Manchester United won 2-0 at Wigan to go through in the FA Cup.
The first goal of the match was scored by Diogo Dalot. In the 22nd minute, the Portuguese full-back received a ball from Rashford on the edge of the box and shot with great pace into the back of the net. The result held until half-time, despite chances for Hojlund and McTominay.
In the second half, the game was similar to the first. The Red Devils kept possession but created little danger. It was Bruno Fernandes who won the penalty in a one-on-one move and, in the 74th minute, slotted home to set the final score.
Erik ten Hag didn’t make any changes against a team from the third tier who, despite their distance in theory, managed, albeit sporadically, to expose Manchester United’s unease, especially without the ball. Now, in the fourth round of the competition, Bruno Fernandes and Diogo Dalot’s opponents will be the winner of the match between Eastleigh and Newport County.
Bruno Fernandes scored the second goal of the match from the penalty spot in the 74th minute.
