Since the start of the 34th edition of the CAN 2023, the clandestine sale of tickets has been criticized.
On Tuesday, February 6, 2024, AIP observed that this practice continues unhindered. One individual, preferring not to identify himself, revealed that he had been discreetly approached by a vendor offering him tickets at high prices, disregarding the appeals of CAF and COCAN to buy tickets at authorized points of sale.
In Yopougon Texaco, many supporters received tickets without any problems, gathering around resellers. Meanwhile, the black market continues to supply tickets, while official points of sale, including the Postel 2001 post office in Plateau municipality, claim to have no tickets available. This situation has persisted since February 2, leaving many fans frustrated since the quarter-final.
The ticket sales manager at the Postel 2001 postal agency reiterated, “We operate from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm and offer three ticket categories: C1 (20,000 FCFA), C2 (15,000 FCFA), and C3 (5,000 FCFA). Unfortunately, we’ve been experiencing network issues since this morning.”
Assiry Lauraine Emmanuelle, frustrated, explained her experience, stating she arrived at 3:30 am but found only two people. Upon entering the room at 8:00 am, the agency manager informed them of the unavailability of tickets, prompting a waiting period, while some individuals surprisingly left with tickets in hand.
