Wayne Rooney has opened the door to the possibility of working at Manchester City! The Manchester United legend expressed openness to a potential move to Manchester City to serve as an assistant to Guardiola. The former English international stated that he would even walk there if the Catalan asked him.
“If Pep Guardiola asked me to be his assistant, I would walk there! We see what Arteta is doing [at Arsenal] and I firmly believe a lot of that is down to learning from Guardiola,” he said on the “Stick To Football” podcast.
After scoring 253 goals in 559 games for United, where he won 18 titles, Wayne Rooney decided to become a coach and has had stints with Derby County, DC United, and Birmingham.
