Amrabat admitted to encountering challenges due to insufficient time to adapt to the Premier League.
Reports indicate that Sofyan Amrabat, the Moroccan international footballer, is poised to make a comeback to the Italian club Fiorentina amidst criticism of his lackluster performance at Manchester United.
According to Sports News Africa, Amrabat has found himself sidelined since returning from the AFCON, where he represented Morocco in the continent’s premier football tournament.
“The reason behind this decision is his underwhelming performances since his arrival”, stated Sports News Africa.
Amrabat’s move to Manchester United occurred in September last year through a loan deal with Fiorentina, following persistent links between the player and the club during the summer transfer window.
His transfer to the Premier League club followed an impressive showing at the 2022 World Cup with the Moroccan national team, the Atlas Lions.
Amrabat’s standout performance during the global competition caught the attention of prestigious international clubs.
The Moroccan Atlas Lion openly admitted to facing challenges at the onset of his Premier League journey.
In December, Amrabat engaged with beIN Sports after a United match against Chelsea. Reflecting on his season, the Atlas Lion expressed his reluctance to make excuses, yet acknowledged that several factors played into his challenging start with Manchester United.
“First of all, I don’t like to use excuses, it was a little bit of a difficult season. I didn’t have a pre-season, it’s very important.. and I started with an injury” the player said.
He said he needed some time to adapt in the Premier League.
