Jadon Sancho expressed his special bond with Borussia Dortmund after helping the German side advance to the quarter-finals of the Champions League with a 2-0 win over PSV Eindhoven.

Following his transfer from Dortmund to Manchester United in August 2021 for 85 million euros, Sancho struggled to maintain a regular position and ended up temporarily returning to Germany due to disagreements with coach Erik ten Hag.

During the game, Sancho scored early, while Marco Reus scored in the final minutes, securing a 3-1 win and a place in the quarter-finals for the first time in three years.

“I’ve always had a special place for Dortmund. This is where I made my name. I have to be grateful to them, but also to my team-mates for believing in me” Sancho told TNT Sports.

“We had the advantage of playing in front of our fans… From the first whistle to the last, we stuck to our game plan and I’m glad we got the win.”
