Paris Saint-Germain captain Marquinhos, who has been sidelined due to an Achilles tendon injury for several weeks, took part in the team’s collective training session on Wednesday and Thursday, a club source told AFP.
Since picking up the injury against Nantes on 17 February, the Brazilian has been unable to play for his national team during the international break and has missed six games, including the second leg of the Champions League last 16 against Real Sociedad and Sunday’s 2-2 draw with Reims in Ligue 1.
The defender could be available on Sunday to face Marseille and on Wednesday for the French Cup semi-final against Rennes.
“There’s nothing worrying or serious. He could have played against Real Sociedad, but as long as he’s not 100 per cent, there’s no need to take any risks” said PSG coach Luis Enrique at a press conference on 12 March.
