Contant Omari, former president of the Congolese Football Federation (Fecofa) and close associate of Samuel Eto’o, has spoken out about the situation of the president of the Fecafoot, who is particularly controversial and subject to a new controversy at the moment with the “Marc Brys” affair, the new coach appointed by the government whom he does not recognize and for whom he is seeking a successor.
According to Omari, the former striker is the victim of a plot orchestrated by his predecessor Seidou Mbombo Njoya, currently a member of the executive committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF). “From the day Samuel Eto’o displayed his independent spirit at the helm of the Fecafoot, his death was planned. So what we are experiencing today is the unfolding of the process. In 2025, there will be elections for the executive committee of the CAF and some members will be renewed, including a former ally of Samuel turned enemy. He knows he will struggle to obtain Samuel’s endorsement as president of the Fecafoot to be reconfirmed. So they have started the process to push Motsepe to change this status,” the Congolese initially accused in an interview with Richard Naha.

Before expanding on his theory: “If CAF fails to amend the statutes before the elections, Samuel must be liquidated as soon as possible so that someone from the same side can be installed to ensure his survival. That’s why you see how they are starting to oppose former players. If Cameroonian former players lose control of the federation, they will no longer have it. The forces of evil are trying to divide former players.”
For the leader, Eto’o’s first two years in office are clearly positive, and the former striker is merely a victim because he disrupts certain interests. “Before Samuel Eto’o, there was a serious crisis at the Fecafoot that lasted more than 5 years. Samuel Eto’o arrived with his international reputation and undertook reforms. He disrupted the interests of some and, willingly or unwillingly, he eventually prevailed. But from the day Samuel Eto’o displayed his independent spirit at the helm of the Fecafoot, his death was planned,” continued the 66-year-old, taking a very clear stance in favor of the former Barcelona star.
