The German coach spoke to the press after his team qualified for the Champions League final by beating Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the first and second legs of the semi-finals.
Borussia Dortmund will play their third Champions League final at Wembley, against either Real Madrid or Bayern Munich, who meet in the other semi-final on Wednesday (2-2 draw in the first leg).
“In both games, we deserved to qualify for the final. When you win twice against a team like that and don’t concede a goal in both games against a force like that…” said Edin Terzic at a press conference.
At Signal Iduna Park last week, Niclas Füllkrug scored the winning goal and on Tuesday, Mats Hummels took responsibility, scoring his first goal in this edition of the Champions League.
The German also admitted that his team was lucky with the numerous attempts at home that hit the post (as many as six between the two games).
“It’s a great night for the club and I’m very proud of my team and my coaching staff” said Terzic.
“Let’s celebrate. It’s great to have secured a place in the final, but we want to achieve something even greater and there’s still a long way to go” said the young coach.
“It doesn’t matter who our opponents are. It’s going to be very difficult, but there’s only one opponent left. And with one game, anything is possible, as we’ve already shown” concluded Edin.
