Under the leadership of Xabi Alonso, the German team drew 1-1 with West Ham in the Europa League, surpassing Juventus’ previous record of 43 games unbeaten, set between May 2011 and May 2012.
Granit Xhaka, the team’s midfielder, expressed his pride in this impressive record and emphasised the importance of continuing to win in order to achieve success in the Europa League. Bayer Leverkusen’s last setback came on 27 May 2023 against Bochum in the Bundesliga. The unbeaten record was in jeopardy in the last match, but a late goal from Jeremie Frimpong in the 89th minute ensured that this remarkable run would continue.
