The Manchester United midfielder, who scored twice and assisted in the 4-2 victory over Sheffield United in the 29th round of the Premier League, shared his thoughts on the match.
On conceding goals: “We always talk about not conceding goals, and today we wanted to achieve that but couldn’t. Credit to Sheffield for their performance. However, we managed to get back into the game, showing character. We dominated the game in the first half and should have scored before conceding. We’re scoring plenty of goals but need to be more cohesive as a team. It’s not just about defenders, midfielders, or forwards; it’s a team effort.”
On his role as captain: “While I’m pleased to score goals, the ultimate goal is to win matches. Of course, I want to be involved in the team’s goals, as it’s been my role since joining the club. But lately, we haven’t been winning as much as we should. We’ve been leading in the final moments but have slipped up. Fortunately, we managed to win today.”
On his second goal: “It was a great goal, thanks to a perfect pass from Koibee. Rasmus’s movement dragged the midfielder away, and Garnacho and Diogo (Dalot) created space for me. Still, I don’t want to take away from the beautiful goal I scored!” (laughs).
