After reports emerged that Al-Nassr from Saudi Arabia would make an offer to sign Casemiro with the assistance of soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, the Brazilian midfielder stated that he has no intention of leaving Manchester United.
Speaking to the British newspaper MBC, he emphasized his contentment with his current club. “Everything is fantastic; since day one, I have been warmly welcomed by the club, the players, and the fans. I have received a lot of love, both on and off the field. It has been a unique and magical experience, and I needed that. I am very happy in Manchester with everything the city and the club offer me,” said the Brazilian. Casemiro joined Manchester United in 2022 in a £70 million deal after years of success with Real Madrid. He performed exceptionally well in his first season and was a champion in the English League Cup. However, consecutive injuries have impacted his performance in recent months, and he has not been on the field since November 1.
This week, the English newspaper Daily Mail reported that Al-Nassr would make an offer to Manchester United for the midfielder, attempting to secure his transfer before the close of the January transfer window. The Arab club’s project aims to reunite the duo—Casemiro and Cristiano Ronaldo—that shone together at Real Madrid.
Speculations about Casemiro’s possible departure from United increased after news that the new co-owner and football operations chief of the club, Jim Ratcliffe, was considering the Brazilian’s departure as a way to ease the payroll burden. However, the midfielder has not shown agreement with this plan.
“I am happy to help the club improve and return to the path of victories. So, yes, I am happy to play for Manchester United,” Casemiro added.
