After scoring just one goal all season, Ousmane Dembélé rediscovered his goalscoring instinct at just the right time to make the difference against his former team. After scoring in Paris, the French winger started the turnaround by opening the scoring for PSG in Barcelona, thus leading them to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
“The game was very challenging, especially as we had lost the first leg in Paris. However, the team was magnificent and very focussed in this second match, which allowed us to deserve the win” Dembélé commented to Movistar after the match in Barcelona.
UEFA honoured Dembélé with the award for best player on the pitch. The former Barcelona player showed his understanding of the Catalan fans’ reaction.
“From the start, I felt we played very well and the atmosphere is one of great happiness. I understand the whistles from the fans, but it’s natural. Whistles happen in every stadium“, said Dembélé.
