After triumphing in the AFCON in his home country, Sebastien Haller was warmly welcomed by his Borussia Dortmund teammates. Coach Edin Terzic, captain Emre Can, and others applauded as Haller entered the German club’s training center. Confetti in the colors of Ivory Coast flew through the air.
“I’m happy to be back. There have been a lot of emotions, a lot has happened. I was very happy to see the guys, and of course, I hope they were happy to see me,” said Haller, who scored the winning goal in the 2-1 (0-1) final victory against Nigeria last Sunday.
Now, the 29-year-old forward, who has yet to regain his old form in the league, hopes to capitalize on the momentum of his AFCON triumph by “winning games” and “scoring goals,” he stated.
