Coach Edin Terzic recognised that the second leg in Paris will be more challenging, especially in front of the home crowd. Despite the minimal advantage, Terzic emphasised the importance of maintaining concentration to face a motivated PSG.
Despite PSG’s pressure in the second half, Dortmund held on to their lead, securing not only the win, but also the German’s place in next season’s Champions League. Terzic reflected on the difficulties in the Bundesliga, expressing gratitude for qualifying, even if it was for fifth place.
This victory strengthens Dortmund’s position in European competition and demonstrates their resilience amidst challenges in the domestic league.
“It was an excellent team performance that gave us what we wanted. We wanted that small advantage. We know that the rematch next week will most likely be more difficult than today. We’re only halfway through and next week will be a different story. It won’t be easy to play them in front of the home crowd. Today we felt that from the 45th to the 60th minute,” revealed the German coach.
