Tottenham’s center-back, Eric Dier, will undergo a medical examination in Germany on Thursday as he nears a €4 million move to Bayern Munich.
Since the summer, Spurs have been open to offers for Dier, who has only started one game under manager Ange Postecoglou this season.
With just six months left on his current contract, Dier will be leaving England for a new challenge, reuniting with former teammate Harry Kane at Munich.
At the start of the campaign, Postecoglou made it clear that Dier could leave Tottenham, but he stayed after the summer transfer window and eventually made his first appearance in November’s 4-1 defeat to Chelsea.
He was given a start in Spurs’ next match against Wolves, but since then, he has only come off the bench twice and was absent from the FA Cup‘s 1-0 victory over Burnley on Friday.
Postecoglou attributed his absence to a minor injury, but by that time, Bayern had already expressed interest in Dier, and they have since come to an agreement with Tottenham for his transfer.
Dier has now arrived in Munich for a medical examination and will depart Spurs just short of completing a decade of service at N17.
This marks a busy week for Tottenham, with Timo Werner joining on loan on Tuesday and Genoa center-back Radu Dragusin expected to complete a move to the club on Thursday, while Djed Spence is heading in the other direction.
