Ivory Coast’s football team basked in celebrations on Tuesday following their triumph in the Africa Cup of Nations.
Head of state Alassane Ouattara warmly welcomed players, coaches, and officials to the Presidential Palace for a reception.
The victorious Elephants, crowned African champions in 2023, were honored with medals bestowed by Ouattara, accompanied by monetary gifts for each squad member.
In recognition of their achievements, team officials were elevated to the rank of Commander in the country’s National Order of Merit, while coaches and players were bestowed with titles of Chevalier and officers respectively.
Today symbolized the president’s appreciation and unwavering belief in a team that displayed courage and resilience throughout the African Cup of Nations.
