The English coach refrained from making excuses, acknowledging the opponent’s superiority: “They displayed great tactical discipline.”
“Congratulations to Atalanta for a good job, they played very well. They had great tactical discipline in defence and in pressing all over the pitch, winning tackles,” said Jurgen Klopp after the 3-0 defeat.
“I’m personally responsible for this defeat, but I believe I made the right decisions. We haven’t been this lowfor a long time. This isn’t the time to talk about our chances of going through, I’m not in the mood: first we think about Crystal Palace, but we can certainly play better,” he said.
“The goal we scored offside with Salah is an example of how we should have played and served the forwards. We played badly and deserved to lose, the lads accepted that. If we want to play well at this stage of the season, we have to change some players. Diogo Jota, for example, needs time and it showed,” he said.
