Despite the difficulties facing Bayern Munich, international record-breaker Lothar Matthäus has kept faith in his team, believing they can still win the Champions League.
Matthäus emphasised the individual quality of Bayern’s players, whom he considers to be one of the strongest teams in Europe. He stressed that if each player gives his best, Bayern will remain one of the favourites to win the Champions League. Matthäus has not ruled out the possibility of parting company with coach Thomas Tuchel in the near future. As a commentator for Sky, he said that the team needed a new lease of life, believing that Tuchel was no longer meeting the team’s needs. He proposes Hermann Gerland as the ideal choice for this transition, highlighting his ability to transform the team’s atmosphere.
