PSG face the challenge of overturning a 1-0 defeat against Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, with coach Luis Enrique counting on fervent support from the fans in Paris.
Niclas Füllkrug scored for Dortmund in the first half, despite PSG having more possession. Enrique recognises the importance of the fans in reaching the final at Wembley.
After an even game, PSG, despite creating more chances in the second half, failed to score for the first time this season. Achraf Hakimi emphasised the team’s concentration and defensive strategy.
With the experience of overcoming previous disadvantages, captain Marquinhos has faith in the team’s ability to reverse the result at home, emphasising the need to take advantage of opportunities. PSG are determined to iron out the details and progress in the competition.
“We saw a balanced game with two teams that play good football when they have the ball” said Luis Enrique at the press conference.
“We both created a lot of chances to score. This time, our opponents scored and we didn’t. The result reflects the closeness of the game. In the last two rounds, they had the home game as their second game, while for us it was the other way round. Now it’s a different and new scenario and we have the crowd on our side in the decisive game” said the coach.
“I’m pleased with the number of chances we created, but you have to be effective to score. We’ll see which version we show in Paris” he added.
Thank you for your support tonight – we go again next week 👏#UCL | #BVBPSG pic.twitter.com/coyTyz6sn6
