Manchester United officials have yet to determine the fate of Mason Greenwood, whose contract runs until 2025. Since his arrest in January 2022 in connection with accusations of sexual abuse and domestic violence, without subsequent confirmation, Greenwood has not played for the club.
Currently on loan at Getafe, his situation remains uncertain, with all options being considered, according to Fabrizio Romano. The new investor, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, acquired 25 per cent of the club and now has influence over football-related decisions, including Greenwood’s case.
“We’ll make a decision. I don’t know if he can still have a future. All I can do is talk about the principle of how we approach decisions like this. Is he the right type of footballer? Are we happy with him? Is he a good person or not? Greenwood is a Manchester United footballer and we are responsible for football. So the answer is that it’s clear that we have to make a decision. No decision has been made yet. He’s on loan, but he’s not the only one.”
