Real Madrid booked their place in the semi-finals of the Champions League after overcoming Manchester City in a thrilling penalty shoot-out last Wednesday.
Nacho commented on the intensity of the match: “It was an arduous challenge as we faced a very pressing team. However, we’re Real Madrid and we battled until the last moment. The most important thing is that we managed to advance to the semi-finals.”
He also highlighted the team’s defensive capabilities: “We usually dominate our opponents, but playing against such a skilful team on this pitch is tricky. We demonstrated our resilience, defending exceptionally well and working well on our defensive compactness. We’re extremely pleased to have achieved our goal.”
Regarding the penalty shoot-out, Nacho mentioned: “We started the shoot-out with a bit of difficulty, but we managed to recover. The fighting spirit of this team is undeniable. Players with a record of achievement like ours never give up. We defended brilliantly, especially individually. It’s nights like this that have fuelled our dreams since childhood, and I’m still thrilled about it.”
