After scoring in both games against Sporting in the round of 16, Italian striker Scamacca once again stood out in the Europa League for Atalanta, scoring twice in Liverpool.
“It’s a fantastic night because we believed from the start, we’re very happy, but there’s still the second leg. Against them it’s not enough,” said a visibly happy Scamacca at the end of the 0-3 win against Liverpool.
“We tried to live it as calmly as possible, taking to the pitch with courage, helping ourselves. I scored two goals today, but if it hadn’t been for my team-mates I wouldn’t have scored at all. It’s thanks to everyone,” he said.
“There’s still the second leg, I don’t want to be fooled by the enthusiasm of the two goals. I have to stay calm for a while, then we’ll see next week,” he relaxed.
