Ole Gunnar Solskjaer considers Bruno Fernandes to be “too impulsive”, which is why he favoured Harry Maguire as Manchester United captain.
Under the leadership of the former Red Devils coach, Maguire was chosen as captain over the Portuguese. Bruno Fernandes only received the armband after the arrival of Erik Ten Hag.
“When I was manager of Manchester United, I knew that Bruno Fernandes had the qualities of a captain” shared the 51-year-old Norwegian coach on the ‘Stick to Football’ podcast.
“He has personality and quality, but he also recognises, as I told him, that he is too impulsive and sometimes loses control” added Solskjaer, who left Old Trafford in 2021.
“I admired Harry Maguire as captain, he was the leader of that group for me” he emphasised.
