The trophy known as the Hexagoal, awarded to all Ligue 1 champions since 2007, is to disappear from next season.
In the last few days, Ligue 1 has been undergoing a revamp. With the change of main sponsor, the French championship will now be endorsed by the McDonalds brand. But that’s not all, as the logo change was also announced on Wednesday.
And this Wednesday evening, Le Parisien announced that the trophy will also be changing. Nothing more is known at the moment, but according to Jérôme Cazadieu, marketing and editorial director at LFP Media, it won’t take long: “It’s a job that will be done in due course.”
“We couldn’t change the logo without changing the trophy,” said the former L’Équipe journalist.
